This guy was raised on cookies, chocolate milk, 80’s movies and Mexican wrestlers. He began his art career at the age of 5 when he started drawing Spider-Man and giant robots. At the age of 8 he saw The Thing, Alien and Predator, one right after the other one, and ever since monsters and creatures have been part of his life.

Geek, metalhead, family man. For some odd reason, a beautiful girl thought it was a good idea to marry this caveman (still trying to figure out this one…) and together they spawned a beautiful child. Of course, he looks like sasquatch now.

His art tries to deconstruct the dullness of the curr….just kidding! He likes to draw monsters! And fantasy creatures! He loves the movies, shows and video games that he grew up with and his art is nothing more than expressing his love and admiration for them.

Horror is his favorite genre, in particular those that include awesome creature design. You can see that reflected in the art. A lot of original creatures are inspired by the writings of H. P. Lovecraft and the movies of John Carpenter, as well as Mexican culture.

Lately Santillanes Arte has been working primarily with colored pencils and markers, but acrylic paints and acrylic gouache are also some of his favorite media. Another favorite of his are Carne Asada tacos.
