A joyful exploration of mosaic collage design and silhouette painting. Students will use colored art tissue or decorative papers, acrylic paint, and stenciling to create a gallery wrapped canvas piece in the color combination of their choice. A variety of nature silhouettes will be provided to choose as a focal point. Basic instruction on layout and design will be provided.

- Variety of decorative papers in 3 shades of the same color (eg. dark blue, light blue, medium blue) plus 1 or more sheets of maps or other papers with interesting black lines or shapes with white background.
- Acrylic matte medium
- Acrylic black paint
- Paintbrushes (1" chip brush for acrylic paint, 1" flat for color wash, plus one small, filbert brush for painting the silhouette)
- Scissors
- Baby wipes or wet rag
- Gloves if you like to wear them
- Apron
- Water container for brushes
