Princeton Umbria Brushes
Princeton’s Umbria Brushes feature synthetic fibers with an extra degree of stiffness to move and control color. Unlike natural bristles, which become soft and distorted when used in waterbased media, the bristles on these brushes retain their shape and stiffness. Each brush includes two shades of synthetic fiber, seamless gold colored ferrules, and a Velvetouch handle for excellent grip and control. They can be used with heavier acrylic paints as well as oils and waterbased oil colors.
Angular Bright, Short Handle - This variation on the shape of the Bright Brush is often handy for painting the upper reaches of large canvases.
Angular Bright, Long Handle- This variation on the shape of the Bright Brush is often handy for painting the upper reaches of large canvases.
Dagger Striper, Short Handle- This unusual ''sword'' shape is excellent for precise control of fine lines and curves of varying widths.
Long and Short Handles - Long handles are recommended for easel style painting, while short handles are recommended for table-top painting where the artwork lies flat, especially with water media.
Brush sizes - The length and width of a brush of a given shape and size may vary by manufacturer as brush sizes are not standardized. Since fine art brushes are handmade, expect some variation even among brushes from within a single brush line.
