As a child I was encouraged to create paintings and drawings. My parents celebrated my creations by having them professionally framed which inspired me to create more. In 1976 when I graduated from college, I began teaching students from preschool to adults the art of drawing. While teaching, I used my artistic skills to help students with special needs understand concepts being taught.
I am a former student of southwest watercolorist Milford Zornes, and children's author/illustrator Ed Young. My recent instructors have included Sandy Delahanty, Sonia Hamilton and Linda Pietz. I enjoy painting in watercolor and acrylic. My paintings include the subjects of waterfalls, animals, landscapes, flowers and abstracts.
My art can be found in private collections in Thailand, California, Oklahoma, Kentucky, and Maryland.
