Experience painting the Fall colors outdoors in the beautiful Willamette Valley in or around Salem! This will be a one-day Field Workshop for those who have been curious about outdoor painting but have never tried and don’t know where to begin or those that know and love landscape painting En Plein Air and would like to improve their skill! The rules change for painting outdoors! You need to know how to approach this type of painting! Course highlights include: selecting a subject, thumbnail sketch in the field, toning canvas and drawing subject, under-painting and layering, plus many fundamentals and tips for your arsenal of painting skills! Bring coffee, any snacks, drinks, sack lunch, and appropriate layers of clothing! Let’s get out there AND PAINT!!

8x10 or 9x12 Oil or Acrylic Primed Linen or Canvas Panel
Cell Phone to shoot photo reference
Sharpie Marker (Fine Tip)
5x7 Field Sketchbool
Easel and Stool/Chair if desired

Oil or Acrylic Paint Colors as follows:
Titanium White
Cadmium Yellow Light
Yellow Ochre
Cadmium Red Light
Permanent Alizarin Crimson
Cerulean Blue or Turquoise French Ultramarine Blue
Burnt Umber

Brushes as follows: Flat brushes sizes 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 OR 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9. Get both long BRISTLE and short BRISTLE of each. Long handle if possible.

Odorless Mineral Spirits (for brush cleaning)
Stainless Steel Paint Brush Cleaner/Odorless Mineral Spirits Holder
Quick Drying Medium (Liquid OR Gel, if Liquid then also a portable Paint Pot)
*Optional Gray Disposable Paper Palettes
*Optional Paper Towels, Toilet Paper Roll, or Kleenex to wipe/clean brushes
Garbage Bag to collect the above
