PITT artist pens - Buy 3 get one FREE
Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pens “Points of Difference”
The Pitt Artist pen is in the “marker category” only because it’s a wet media and that is the only comparison to the markers of the world. The Points of Difference are as follows;
• Bleed proof on most all surfaces allows an artist to work on a variety of surfaces that traditional markers don’t work well on. Ex. Sketchbooks, journals, w/c paper, drawing paper, newsprint, vellum, wood. With markers you are stuck using a marker pad or Bristol board which are made not to bleed through.
• Smudge proof when dry….can work on top of existing work and it won’t lift prior work. Markers have solvents that will reactivate prior work. You can use watercolor over Pitt pens or do washes over.
• Archival and fade resistant. 40 of 61 colors or 80% of the colors have a 3 star lightfast rating which means they will resist fading for over 100 years. Pitt pens achieve this by using pigmented ink. All markers use dye based inks and dyes inherently are not lightfast.
• No odor, because the Pitt pens lack solvents which is studio safe and will allow you to work in public spaces. I.e. Don Colley- urban sketcher. Pitt Pens use pigmented ink and water.
• 61 colors including 3 metallics to choose from plus a variety of nibs sizes in Black, Sepia and Sanguine.
• Great for graphic novelists, illustrators, architects, artists, designers of all kinds, students, paper crafters and hobbyists.

The Downtown Creative District was formed by a group of Commercial Street business owners who noticed the many art opportunities available in downtown Salem. We grouped together to create a coordinated marketing plan to increase the awareness of the many art and cultural activities offered year-round in our community including classes, events, demonstrations, exhibits and more. It is our intention to attract and enhance downtown with art and culture in our urban area.
