Ages 14+
Whether you are just beginning to paint with acrylics, or have a bit of experience, this class will increase your comfort level with mixing, blending, color matching, shading, and composition. We will do some quick exercises, then work from photos and still life objects. Each class will include a short lecture, examples, and demonstrations. Plan on completing 2-3 paintings and several studies.

- sketchbook for notes and exercises
- pencil and pen
- disposable palette 9" x 12"
- small container for water
- paper towels
- apron
- palette knife for mixing paint: rounded end, not triangular
- synthetic brushes: round #8, 1/2" flat, 1/4" flat, 1" flat
- 3 canvases or wood panels: 8" x 10", 9" x 12", 11" x 14"
- acrylic tube paint:
- Titanium white,
- Cadmium Yellow Medium
- Cadmium Red Light or Pyrrole Red
- Alizarin Crimson
- Ultramarine Blue
- Cerulean Blue or Phalo Blue,
- Sap Green
- Viridian Green,
- Raw Sienna
- Raw Umber
- any other hues that you might already have. Note: some of these hues are interchangeable with other color names. Be sure to ask.
