Beat the winter blahs with this watercolor tropical sunset painting. Suitable for beginning or intermediate painters. We’ll explore lots of fun techniques like wet-in wet, dry brush, layering, and reserving white paper, to name a few. Come relax for a few hours, practice your painting skills, meet fun people, and dream of a Hawaii getaway.
Supply List
Note: All regular-priced supplies are available at 20% off from Art Department for this class.
General Supplies:
2 water containers
paper towels
artist’s tape (to tape down loose or pad paper)
a board (to tape on)
Paper:
Please bring 100% cotton watercolor paper, cold press, 140 lb, at least size 9x12 on which to do your painting. Loose sheets, a pad or block are fine. Extra paper can come in handy for color swatching or practicing techniques.
Paints:
Please bring artist or student grade paints. The colors I used are: Cerulean Blue, Quinacridone Rose, Raw Sienna, Sepia, and Payne’s Grey.
